Jack Kelly, father of LGDA Founder, Jana K. Sheets (1974-2010), is president and a member of the Board of Directors of the foundation. His duties are focused on building a sustaining operation to develop and increase patient education, disease information, care-facility information, a worldwide patient registry, a system for biomaterial collection, and to support further clinical expansion and research development. He represents the worldwide LGDA patient community through his participation in several medical society conferences, rare disease organizations, and in research-driven programs. He spends a good deal of time promoting disease awareness and developing relationships with orphan-disease specialists in medicine and science around the world.
Jack is a representative of the LGDA on the Executive Committee of our International Affiliate, LGDA-Europe, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Lymphatic Malformation Institute, LGDA’s research partner. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society Public Advisory Roundtable (ATS-PAR), the Rare Lung Disease Consortium, the Vascular Anomalies Patient Education Committee of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and a member of the Rare Bone Disease Alliance. Jack was elected in October 2016 to the Board of Directors of the Fibrous Dysplasia Foundation. He is a former Board member of the Lymphatic Research Foundation. Jack is retired from the computer industry. He holds an Executive MBA from Pace University, New York, New York.
