Created by LGDA Founder Jana Sheets, the award is the LGDA’s highest expression of appreciation for extraordinary medical professionalism, treatment, care, and human kindness extended to patients and families affected by our rare lymphatic disease spectrum.

Through his leadership role in the Vascular Anomalies Special Interest Group within the American Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology (ASPHO), Dr. Trenor has helped to expand the number of physicians specializing in the field of pediatric lymphatic anomalies. Still further, through his role as a principal investigator in an important Phase II clinical trial for sirolimus and principal investigator for the Lymphatic Anomalies Registry at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dr. Trenor has helped to expand knowledge regarding the diagnosis and treatment of complex vascular anomalies.
When presenting the award, LGDA President Jack Kelly spoke for all the patients and families: “Congratulations, Dr. Trenor. With assiduous regard in your work, you make a difference in so many ways for patients. What more can we say? To say all that we mean is inexpressible. On behalf of our community I convey our deep gratitude. ”
