2nd International Conference on GLA & GSD
The Lymphangiomatosis and Gorham’s Disease Alliance (LGDA) and the Lymphatic Malformation Institute (LMI) were proud to host the 2nd International Conference on Generalized Lymphatic Anomaly and Gorham-Stout Disease. The conference was held at the W Hotel – Buckhead in Atlanta, GA from June 10-11, 2016.
The conference was chaired by Dr. Ionela Iacobas (Texas Children’s Hospital) and Dr. Michael Dellinger (Research Director, LMI). This conference was a two-day workshop, which brought together clinicians and investigators from a variety of specialties having expertise and interest in GLA and GSD to learn about advances in science and to establish the framework of a consensus for evaluation and monitoring guidelines and a scheme of risk stratification for GLA and GSD.
We are very grateful for the support from the Alfie Milne Lymphangiomatosis Trust, Aberdeen, Scotland, as a sponsor of the 2nd International Conference on Generalized Lymphatic Anomaly and Gorham-Stout Disease.
Update: April 2020
The consensus findings from this conference were published in the Journal Pediatric Blood & Cancer in October 2019. The paper was recognized by the publisher as having received some of the most downloads in the 12 months following online publication. It also noted that this research generated immediate impact and helped to raise the visibility of Pediatric Blood & Cancer.
We extend our thanks to all who participated in the conference, especially Dr. Iacobas and the listed authors who shepherded the work through to the publication process, and all of those who provide financial support to the LGDA, the LMI, and the LGD Alliance-UK (formerly the Alfie Milne Lymphangiomatosis Trust. Because of your support, these comprehensive consensus guidelines will benefit patients far into the future.
