Hi there!

I wanted to introduce myself to the patients and families on the forum. My name is Sandy Goldfarb and am the VP of the LGD Alliance. My son Zachary (who just turned 8) was diagnosed with Gorham's Disease when he was 3. My primary focus for my involvement with the LGD Alliance is fundraising.

I wanted to let you know that I am available if anyone needs any help in their fundraising endeavors. Raising money can seem very overwhelming - and please know that I am here to assist you. We want you to be successful and enjoy any work you do for the LGD Alliance.

Did you know that the LGD Alliance is a participating charity with Goodsearch and Goodshop?? This is a great way to raise money - and it is free to you! All you need to do is go to www.goodsearch.com and designate the Lymphangiomatosis and Gorham's Disease Alliance as your charity - then search away. Every search you conduct through Goodsearch will earn us a penny. While that doesn't seem like much - it can really add up.

In addition - if you do any internet shopping - please check to see if your store is listed on Goodshop. If so - the store has agreed to donate a portion of the sale to your designated charity - another great way for the LGD Alliance to raise money.

Donation for a Great Cause

I just made a donation to the LGD Alliance so research can get underway and make its first steps toward the understanding and treatment of this disease. This foundation also provides emotional, educational and informational support to families worldwide struggling to find a treatment and answers to their questions. Most people with this disease are children. My daughter, Jana (Kelly) Sheets, has beaten the odds as she has had this condition for almost 30 years now. She is an inspiration to others, not only in her courageous battle with this disease, but with the time and dedication she has but into the Alliance and the many, many families she helps. If you have time and a talent to offer, ask Jana how you may help the Foundation. No time? No talent? Then perhaps a donation of 1.00, 10.00, 100.00 or more. This is how diseases get conquered, starting with a few people and a few dollars. Thank you to all Sue (Sam) Fitzsimmons.
