Fundraising
Fundraising doesn’t always mean a huge event involving lots of time and initial monetary involvement. There are many different ways that you can help financially support the LGD Alliance. Some of the most successful charitable organizations raise their funds little donations at a time. Never hesitate to make a donation or ask for a donation because the amount might be “too small to make a difference.” In addition – fundraising should be fun and rewarding, and we are here to make sure that is the case.
The following are just a few examples of fundraising campaigns:
-
Host a home party: Many home catalog companies (i.e. Southern Living, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, etc.) will donate proceeds from the sale to charities. Contact a local representative from the company to schedule an event. They will often provide invitations as well.
-
Letter writing/Email: Write an open letter to friends and family asking them to support the LGD Alliance. Explain how these diseases affect you and how the LGD Alliance brings hope to create a better life for patients and families. You can link to our website for collecting donations. For sample letters please email getinvolved@lgdalliance.org and we can help get you started.
-
Gifts: For special events (birthdays, anniversaries, retirement, etc), ask that people make a donation to the LGD Alliance in lieu of gifts.
-
Sports Challenge: Plan a hike, cycling race, a run, jump rope contest and have participants collect pledges, which can even be collected online.
-
Dinner Auctions: Host a dinner with a live and silent auction, music, etc.
